Registration and Licensing (RLA) Trader Rollout

The updating of registration and/or licensing details of your organisation is very near and requires CEOs, General and Operations Managers and Shipping Department Managers to urgently comply with this request if you have not already done so.

The impact to your clearances can be severe (including, but not limited to, storage and demurrage costs) with Customs automatically rejecting any clearance for non-compliant traders.

In summary, SARS requires all Customs clients (i.e. those who are registered with them as Importers, Exporters, Rebate Users, Bond Store holders, and the like) to update their company and individual details on the RLA system through your own eFiling platform. SARS has also offered online guides for the completion of this process which you can view on this URL:

We strongly urge you to begin the process of updating your information with SARS in good time to give you the opportunity to resolve any queries that SARS may raise in finalising the updates.

The deadline is the 31st March 2023.
